The Chipper/Shredder/Vac and the Yard-Vac both have optional vacuum hoses available, which allow the operator to reach leaves and debris in tighter areas under shrubs and bushes.

What kind of yard debris will it pick up?

These two chore performers work well vacuuming up leaves and yard debris for spring and fall yard clean-up. Pine needles, pine cones, twigs and small branches are vacuumed up through the front nozzle, while chipping larger branches are fed through the chipper chute.

What kind of yard waste/wood can I put in an MTD Chipper/Shredder?

Suitable for softwood and hardwood branches 2" to 3" depending on model. Yard waste for drop-down hopper for the chipper/shredder include: leaves, branches, twigs, pine needles & cones.

If I chip a lot of hardwood, will the blades dull faster?

Hardwoods will accelerate wear on the chipper blades faster than softwoods, however; there are special chromium hardened blades available at a nominal charge, if you are continually chipping hardwoods.
